About Me
Hello there, nice to meet you! Whoever is reading this, I hope you're having a good day, and that you at least found my work amusing if you've looked at it before coming here. I currently work as part of the Support Team at Hawk Ridge Systems, a SolidWorks Reseller, providing technical support to customers with CAD issues as well as administrative, software installation, licensing, and network troubleshooting. I came into this as a Graphics Communications graduate of NCSU, which is an interdisciplinary field that combines courses in engineering, design, psychology, and education depending on the student's career interests. Formerly, I was studying Electrical Engineering, but found that it wasn't fully utilizing my skills, and the educational path limited my career options much more than I would like. I then decided to switch to Graphics Communications, which allowed me to fully utilize my skills for understanding and communicating information about complex systems, technical instructions, and scientific visualizations in a useful manner, as well as do non-technical work that I enjoy, hence the type of projects you see in this portfolio.
Outside of class back in college, I also worked as a student maintenance assistant for NCSU to pay bills, and in my free time like to play videogames, D&D, make pixel art and animations, and occasionally do some wire sculpture. Back in January 2019 I also joined the NCSU Student Homelessness Committee and helped with developing the program for Host Homes as part of NCSU's project to end student homelessness for the ~10% of students that are homeless at some point during the year. Some details on that are in the PowerPoint here on the page. I've experienced homelessness and housing insecurity throughout my life, so when a chance came up to do something about it to make sure other students don't have these problems, I got myself involved. A link about that project is here:

After I graduated in May that year, I packed up and left for the West Coast to visit family, and then from mid July to late September I was taking care of my Grandmother and getting her through her physical therapy exercises after her knee replacement surgery. I was also helping her with running the Lake Almanor Food Pantry during this, assisting with distributions twice a month to around 50 families, as well as with stocking, records and administrative paperwork, something I'd do when I'd visit her house on holidays when I could go home.
After she had gained most of her mobility back by late September, I left for the Portland Metro Area to look for work, and after struggling once covid hit and turned the job market into a chaotic mess, I have been working at Hawk Ridge Systems for a year now.
